Our new District steering group met on Monday and I wanted to share some important news straight away.
1. The Honeypot Charity www.honeypot.org.uk
On Monday, we heard an excellent and interesting presentation by Viv Carter describing how this charity provides respite for young carers aged 5-12, helping them make happy childhood memories and build brighter futures. It is based at Honeypot House near Exbury, Hampshire..
This charity is already supported by the Winchester, Eastleigh and Romsey circuit and we would encourage other circuits to join them if you have not already chosen a circuit charity.
Joyce Powell from Chandlers Ford has produced an Advent Calendar to help you and this is available below to download.
A written service about the charity used in WER churches is available for your use.
A fund-raising carol concert is being organised by Honeypots on Friday 12th December. Tickets £15 Adults
2. The Butterfly Service taking place at Wesley's Chapel will be livestreamed on the MWiB YouTube channel next Tuesday 25 November at 10.30am.
It is led by Rev Leonora Wassell and marks the beginning of 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence.
The link to the livestream is below. Please share this information around your networks.
3. Our next Steering Group meeting is on Monday 26th January 2026 at Romsey at 1pm for 1.30pm start. Do please encourage someone from your circuit to join us as we plan how to be effective Methodist Women in the Southampton District, working together 'for Women, for Justice, for Christ'.
If you wish to be removed from my list, or know of anyone who would like to be added, please do get in touch.
Every blessing,
Communications Officer, Southampton District MWiB
